Now seeking external candidates for almost a dozen line/staff/non-mgmt positions, according to USAJOBS.
After cutting approx. 800 staff over the last few months. Interesting. I guess they’ll see if the strict no-telework policy has any effect on the number and quality of applicants. |
| Bargaining unit too. Wow. |
| I see about 12 openings. A couple for interns (doesn't count), IG criminal investigator (doesn't really count) and a few supervisory roles. There are also two SK16 roles that work with the front office, probably for the new director. |
Several more for line accountants posted yesterday. |
Internal only? I dont see them on USAjobs when i filter by agency. |
|
I saw an article that the IRS is trying to get people it let go on DRP to come back too.

| Not sure why it doesn’t come up in USAJOBS search. People have posted it on LinkedIn. |
I found the jobs you're talking about, those don't really count either. Those are fellowships and they are temporary appointments. |
The SEC has a professional accounting fellowship in OCA that doesn’t last more than two years or so. These positions haven’t increased in number, rather they rotate people from external firms to provide different points of view and keep industry knowledge and exposure current in their work so they are not working in a vacuum. These positions have worked this way for many decades. The SEC was given targeted hiring authority around the time of Dodd-Frank so not all positions can be found through a USA jobs search. These are for highly specialized positions where the Agency may receive many applications but few will be best qualified. |
| do you think it would be a good ideal to apply to the counsel position under the new enf director? i am not sure what the actual hours working would be and given it is a new director i am assuming there will be lots of questions asked by the director, meaning more time spent working in the office. |

Was wondering the same. |
| They all look temporary (internship) or for internal candidates only. |
| Who wants to get a job with the federal government now unless they have no other option? |
Why do none of these jobs “count”? These people will be drawing salary/benefits that come out of the budget. They therefore “count.” The only ones that don’t “count” are the free interns, and even they incur costs. |
Fantastic question. I guess we’ll see! |
