ECNL Top 25 Girls clubs

I just saw that ECNL posted the top 25 girls clubs nationally. What I’m seeing, doesn’t really fit the DCUM narrative.

3 Mid-Atlantic clubs. No Arlington or Bethesda which are the 2 clubs everyone talks about being the best clubs around on here.

Because ECNL knows that these clubs will be moving to GA for next season. On the other hand they are giving all sort of awards to VDA and RU for retention purposes.

You go realize that the club ranking is calculated by performance. From the ECNL website: "This honor is awarded to the club that earned the highest total points from regular-season conference games and performance at the ECNL National Playoffs and Finals. Winning this championship requires consistent excellence across all age groups throughout the season."

So, sure, the ECNL just gave the ranking to VDA and RU.

What kind of awards have they been giving to these two clubs? I don’t understand why they would give them awards if they were not earned?

Top club in youth soccer does not mean anything. I could care less. Top club is for clubs that earn millions being a top club. Chelsea for example getting $114 mil for winning clubs World Cup. When it comes to youth soccer. Look for a club and a coach that will help your player develop in a challenging environment. As simple as that.

What exactly does it mean to be awarded this prestigious Top Club by ECNL? Does it mean my DD will become a better soccer player if she joins these clubs? She'll get a college scholarship? Some people are just so desperate/gullible. I guess that's why all these top lists exist.

It’s a scam, many players from these clubs don’t even get to play in college. The fake propaganda and lies might get them a spot in a P4U but do they actually play?

Doesn’t Girls Academy have a competition called Champions Cup where only certain clubs on a really short list get to compete?
