| I don't get it generic stool softeners for almost $30, pads $17. Do they not want customers? They can for sure sell these for less money, sell more of them and make a profit. Or did opening a store on every street corner effect their prices? I know they make 99.99% of their money on the prescription drugs but they could be making so much more selling all the other crap in the store that takes up more square footage. They're being asinine not utilizing the rest of their stores. I'd rather run into a drug store to grab something quick then a trip to a box store. |
| People that shop at pharmacies are usually stupid. |
|
It’s convenience store pricing. You don’t have to traverse an entire Big Box store or wait in long checkout lines.
I recently had to run out at 10pm for tampons. My choices were CVS or Walmart. I chose CVS because I could park right at the entrance, and the entire store is the size of the vestibule at Walmart—I was in and out in three minutes. |
| I miss the days of shopping at the pharmacy and paying only a tiny bit more for it not 10x the average price. Cvs and Walgreens are just so disappointing and wildly overpriced and understaffed. |
There's something called OVERHEAD. Gov prop taxes, fees, licenses, and all that other crap people here vote for. Also, electric, water, gas, wifi, etc. utilities. Also employees and "living wages" < that everyone wants and votes for now. Also upkeep and maintenance and cleaning. Etc. etc. Of course it's cheaper online or in a box corporate store, rather than a mom and pop place or small pharmacy. Sometimes it's not though and you find deals at them that beat online or boxos. |
| You pay for convenience. It's the same the world over. Bodegas, Kombinis (Japan), little stall vendors. There will always be customers for that. |

I like a Eucerin cream that Target doesn’t carry. I’m not buying meds from Amazon, too many counterfeits.
What galls me is the online price at CVS is $6 and the in store price is $8. I didn’t realize until I was checking out that the website had listed an online only price. I could have ordered it online for pickup and paid $6, but at that point it would take at least 30 mins (they don’t price match, I’ve done this dance before, I just forgot it was at CVS). |
| I think they’re trying to kill all the non pharmacy retail in some sort of long term real estate play. |
People with a brain shop at Walmart for these items. |
Trump |
| I get stuff cheaper at CVS bet I get at least a 40% off coupon each week. And, if you look at the flyer, you get different weekly deals. |
People with money don't live that close to Walmart. Arlington to a walmart is a hike. As far as i know there is no bethesda or McLean Walmart but you do you! |
| It's a convenience thing. I rarely buy anything at drug stores but when I do it's because it's the closest thing open at that time. |
Well then you can afford these prices so quite whining |
Your last sentence is why they have high prices |
