Help dress me for a wedding weekend in Tuscany ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Anonymous
mother of the groom, upscale Tuscan villa, events Thursday - Sunday. The wedding party men are wearing tuxes, the women satin/silky simple & beautiful long slip dresses (pale yellow or cream with very light, sparse flowers throughout) in October. I'm 5'4", 34DD, 130 pounds. Absolutely require a full support bra (so no sleeveless, backless, off the shoulder, etc). I'd be willing to throw money at this - but I need some ideas of where to start. I know of at least a welcome small pizza party Thursday night, a larger welcome party Friday night (we'll host this one), the wedding ceremony & reception, Sunday brunch (and a day of activities I can figure out myself). Weather will be unpredictable, hopefully mild 60s during the day. Bride prefers events outdoors, but indoor contingency rooms are planned. thanks for any guidance or suggestions.

Make an appt with Bloomingdale's personal shopping service. You will do better with in person help than ordering things online. Plus they have an in house tailor.

this is a great idea but I'm hoping to have a better sense of the type of outfits I'm looking for before I meet with a personal shopper

If it's only going to be in the 60s, seems to be too cool to be wearing a slinky satin dress, especially into the evening.

Only you and maybe the stylist knows what type of dress and color looks good on you, but I would go with at most a sleeveless dress.

there's no way I'm wearing a slinky satiny dress - I only mentioned as the bridesmaids' dresses (and groomsmen wearing tuxes) are the only things I know about what people are wearing. And to me the slip dresses are a bit less formal than some other choices and that I can keep my wardrobe low key.

OP i would look at Teri Jon and Theia for dresses for the wedding. They are one of the few that offers dresses that doesn't dress mom like an aging Ms. America. I really like theia's kimono dress, because I'm a fan on the moms not overdressing for your typical wedding.

Adriana Papel has some nice beaded dresses in a lot of MOB styles. Iโ€™d get a dress in light blue, beige or green. Assuming the brideโ€™s mother is going with floor length.

Not sure if this would work with the bridesmaid dresses, but my aunt had a beautiful bronze/warm chestnut satin gown when she was mother of the groom. She is a fair brunette. It really was a stunning and different color.

The collar was the shape of this off-the-shoulder dress but it was higher so it provided more of a cape or top or sleeved effect. It might have had small straps over the shoulder.

someone once posted a link to a MOB/G site where people posted pictures of themselves in their dresses and listed the type of wedding/location/season. it would be a great place for inspo, hopefully that person will see this thread and repost the link.

I posted that site. Here it is:

Their recent "Cry for Help" featured a MOB and multiple beautiful dresses she wore for her daughter's wedding and other weddings.

Tried this and AI gave me a lot of Alex Evening, Adrianna Papell, and other ubiquitous $125 dresses.
