| I know know 2 completely different schools - DC is a recruited athlete and luvs both teams / coaches, and will be doing overnites. But if DC is looking to be a business major, which degree would open more doors from a reputation / prestige perspective? in NYC |
| CMU |
| CMU |
| OP you cannot be serious. CNU is a community college compared to W&L. Are you trolling? |
| Lol sorry I thought you said CNU not CMU! Yea CMU |
cmon how could you call Central Michigan University a community college! those chippewas are smart! |
|
W&L does have a great network on Wall Street.
Have you asked what the specific sport alumni network is like at both schools? |
| What sport? |
| W&L has a beautiful campus while Carnegie Mellon...well it's in Pittsburgh. So a lot depends on how he or she feel when they've visited both. |
Pittsburgh is gorgeous and a very hilly city. Why be in the middle of nowhere when you can go to the better college with more opportunities and more to do than just drink? |
Because maybe not everyone believes Pittsburgh is “gorgeous”. It’s a nice city but not sure that’s the term l would use to describe it. Maybe their kid doesn’t like an urban campus and maybe they do. The point is they will get the vibe when visiting both. Maybe their DC also has a different criteria for what they consider “better”. |
| Colgate also in the mix, but DC was a bit put off by the coach. But welcome thoughts on Colgate vs these other 2 - ha title of post should be 3 most dissimilar schools! |
So basically a bunch of bs. Go to CMU op. |
| Carnegie Mellon is more a peer of Hopkins, and is considered a hot school along with Vandy at my kids private - counselors steer the top third toward ivy+ and second third to CMU, Vandy, Emory, and WASP |
I have never heard of CMU described as a hot school. |
