Rollins College

Does anyone have experience with this college? Is it a college for smart kids or late bloomers? Preppy or quirky?

It would be high on DC’s list if it wasn’t in Florida.

We toured and DC loved it. I think it gets a mix of types. The people we know who attended were preppy, as is DC.

Visited there last year. Beautiful campus, attractive students.

My kid ended up elsewhere but we all loved Rollins. I’m surprised it isn’t more popular. I saw that they recently got a new president which can be an exciting time for a school.

How is it academically?

I am curious too! Not many liberal arts colleges down that way -

Toured it with my DD a few years ago. She applied and was accepted with great merit. Beautiful school! Ultimately, she felt like they did a little too much hand holding for her taste (ended up at a large university). Kids seems “preppy” to me, although some were definitely not so maybe there is a variety.

Good school

Good school, has always had strong leadership. Used to have a rep for lots of preppy cokeheads. D2 without football, so they can have lots of scholarship money for other men's sports like lacrosse, sailing, crew, etc.

What is the academic equivalent in the DMV? W&L or Roanoke?

Notice how everyone is talking about how wealthy and attractive the students are? Schools an absolute breeze.
