| Anyone do this? We are specifically looking at Kingsmill for the amenities and we’re hoping for some feedback. Thanks |
| I loved Williamsburg when I visited there. Am also considering it for retirement. |
| Williamsburg has become a popular retirement destination. Developers have been marketing it in New England as a warmer place to retire but without the headaches (hurricanes, other) of Florida. |
| I know a retired couple who lives there. They love it. It’s not cheap but from what I can tell living in a $1m house in Williamsburg will make people feel rich. |
|
My mom moved to Colonial Heritage (across from the Go Kart place).
It's not Kingsmill per your post, but mom likes CH. |
| I’d be much more interested than some shit hole like Florida with the crazy politics, guns and hurricanes. |
| Seems really hot and humid. |
My parents retired in Williamsburg after decades in Northern Virginia and my mom was always going on and on about the heat and humidity, as if she was in the Deep South all of a sudden. In fact, the weather is identical to the DC area. Over the next few days, it’ll be a few degrees cooler. |
|
If I was moving to get away from the DMV weather Williamsburg would not be far south enough for me. It’s basically the same weather that we have in the DC area.
|
| How about ford colony in Williamsburg? Would you recommend? |
| I couldn’t imagine a worst place to retire. Why would you want to do that? Would you want to pretend you’re in the 17th century for the rest of your life? |
| Kind of how the rest of the US is ferling like now anyways.😜😜 Clearly the Colonial stuff is only a small part. That's like saying I wouldn’t retire in Orlando because I would be living in Disney World. |
That’s exactly what retiring in Orlando is |
| If they don't plan to do much international travel since no large airport. They could find their intellectual and political peer group. Weather would be the same as DMV. A plus would probably be year round residents |
My parents retired there. They like it. |
