My kid is 2 years away from K and wondering what schools would be a culture fit for us? DH and I are both from the SE and will be raising kids here. Want them to get a great education but want it to be a fit for us as a family. Not into MAGA stuff but consider ourselves right of center. would SSAS, Holy Trinity, Potomac, St Pats be good fits? Any others?

I would consider National Presbyterian School. No MAGA hats but pretty moderate families.

OP it depends where you live; there are several schools that come to mind. If in DC, definitely NPS or St Pats. I would only do SSSAS if you are in VA. You could probably find your crowd at Potomac. Landon if you have a boy, but not til 3rd grade. Also look at Bullis or SAES if in MD.

Some of the Catholic schools maybe? Blessed Sacrament or Our Lady of Lourdes have a lot of MAGA types.

Probably not SSSAS. Episcopal schools lean left. I don’t know if that’s true of St. Pats because we have no experience there; it might also be more pronounced in schools with a HS where the students start really forming opinions of their own. SSSAS has a strong contingent on non-binary and even trans students. I suggest reading their mission and vision statements online and see if they feel comfortable to you; they walk the talk.

Episcopalian schools are big on inclusiveness, diversity, social justice, etc. OP, I don't think you're the right fit for them.

Been a while since I've connected with Holy Trinity in Georgetown, but my experience is it is very much a Jesuit school. Not really right-of-center.

What exactly is Potomac indoctrinating? Or even St. Pat’s or SSSAS, which are Episcopalian, not Catholic? Usually you only rant about Catholic indoctrination, why spread out now?

SSSAS is way too woke for you. All of the teachers are very liberal leaning. The families who are republicans are being pushed out. I’d do Catholic school. St Mary’s in Old Town is for the “southern” moderates.
