Does anyone have a numbers guy who has done the backend math to determine next year’s divisions? |
Should be out soon anyway, right? |
I predict Potomac will be out of Div A |
Next Saturday, at some point, I think. But all the times are in since it’s only dual meets. |
Does anyone out there understand the algorithm?
Is it the median of the top three times per event, regardless of swimmer, or the median of the top time from each of three different swimmers? |
For seeding it is the top two times per team per event. Not three. Since only two swim in Divisionals. |
“Division assignments are determined by a computerized swim-off. The median of the top 3 times from each team for each event from every dual meet is computed. Using these 3 times, each team is then swum against all other teams. Placement for the subsequent year is based on the number of wins, with ties broken by total points scored. No allowance is made for aging up or other potential changes.” |
They do the seeding sometime this weekend the mcsl board knows the division seedings by Sunday evening |
+1. They have lost every single meet this season. If they are out of division A, which team will take their place? |
Tanglewood will probably move up to 'A' |
Country Glen will replace Potomac if Division A |
Not Darnestown? |
That team has needed to fold and merge with Calverton for the last 25 years. They won’t because they’re a HOA pool and Calverton is a private club. Now it’s definitely time to throw in the towel (so to speak). Pretty sure it’s the first MCSL meet ever wher3 a team didn’t break 100. Or 90. |
Darnestown beat Country Glen in the Relay Carnival and Dual Meet |
Both teams could move up |
