This will be a short post, I just need to vent. The MoCo ruling was a slap in the face to the public education system. First with vouchers then with this, MAGA is attempting to destroy public schooling in America. I honestly feel hopeless about this. Is there anything I can do besides give up? |

MCPS was dumb to fight it. |
What happened? |
Joy is the antidote. They want us to be demoralized. That's the only way they can win. |
Is this the Opt Out of lgbtqia2+ gender confusion story time for k-5? Yeah that made national news last month. Supreme Court went on recess at the end of June. |
Speak up. It is your right. |
What’s cookin’ now MCPS?
Got another administrator sexually assaulting teachers and can’t move him to another school pyramid again fast enough? Or maybe it’s the special needs bus driver still molesting SN kids for 8 years? There’s not more gifted/talented or Center for excellence or magnet schools anymore, so it’s not that. Could it be the 1:1 Admin to teacher ratio? Did we give another billion or two to Discovery Ed for lame k-8 pretend science curriculum? Are we going to finally pass our five year curriculum audit for once? |
Too many parents opted out, so MoCo removed the optout. |
Vouchers will kill public education so the MoCo ruling is irrelevant. |
100% agree. Dr. Seuss wrote the book on how to deal with this The Grinch who Stole Christmas. We are the Who’s in whoville and the solution is to hold hands, welcome everyone in and be happy. Just substitute empathy and kindness for Christmas (which is the intent of the Christmas anyway) and here you go: Welcome all who's far and near Christmas day will always be Just so long as we have we Welcome Christmas, bring your light Welcome Christmas, while we stand Heart to heart and hand in hand Fahoo fores, dahoo dores Welcome, welcome Christmas, Christmas day |
But what if the AFABs feel unwelcome being grouped with AMABs (because of the latter’s physical sex characteristics and their history of bad acts towards AFABs)? Is it okay for the AFABs to be unwelcome as long as the AMABs who feel like AFABs maintain good cheer? |
Not this again. |
Ha ha. It worked so well for Kamala. |
No, it was not a slap in the face to the school system. It was a victory for parent rights. Why should children have to be exposed to concepts that are not age appropriate? What is wrong with allowing parents to opt their kids out of such instruction? |
