Let’s rank t20s on dating/relationship culture
As apps die out and in-person dating is become in again as well as younger marriages, which t20s have the best dating/relationship culture? I’ll start: Penn is terrible. It’s the most “only fans” of the Ivy League |
What does this comment about Penn even mean? There are places like BYU and other religious schools and then there are every other college where students hook up a ton while some date and have relationships. That’s it. |
Penn has the biggest hookup culture in the Ivy League . More pump and dump. Very Miami |
That’s silly…every college has a hookup culture. |
| In what world are younger marriages in again? The trend has only been in one direction for decades. |
In umc circles That’s been my observation and also been corroborated in the relationship thread Gen z is not like the Millennials |
This seems to just be vibes and anecdotes at this point. On the other hand, we have quite a bit of data that they are much less likely to be in relationships than generations before them. So to OP’s question, it seems that the dating/relationship culture is likely to suck at most of these schools for the foreseeable future. |
| Just this month, got two invites for upcoming weddings. One groom is 22 just graduated college and other is 25 attending law school. All attended goos state schools and come from two income upper middle class families worth 3-8 million. |
| Ridiculous thread. |

I'm going to a 21 year old marriage this summer. They're marrying prior to one beginning a top law school and one an impressive job.
All the parents involved got married at 30+ (my friends). |
Actually make that two 21 year old weddings. I totally spaced on the second. Both of these kids are starting medical school after attending an Ivy. Parents who are my friends also got married in their early 30s. |

| How is dating culture at LACs? |
complete BS . i have two kids at Penn (‘24,’27) and neither they nor their close friends were like that. Half the group were in long term relationships the other half dated occasionally or not much at all, more into parties with the girl group but no dates, and many weekends too much work to go out late and really party. More of a grab dinner as a group or go see a show |

NYT has info that is a bit outdated: Percent of graduates married in 2014 (For students born between 1980-82, roughly the college class of 2002)
Can search by school: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/projects/college-mobility Article using same data: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/03/29/upshot/college-marriage-class-differences.html |
