Any news? The admissions blog has been quiet except for announcing some kinesiology admits weeks ago.

Nothing which seems odd. Must be over enrolled as surely would have made a round of offers by now. |
Waiting to see how things shake out for international students. |
The longer schools wait to make offers off the waitlist, the greater the chance that students will say no. By early June, most students have become invested in the school they committed to. |
I agree.....I don't think it's going to move much more. It's getting late. |
I really hate how so many schools, not just UVA, string students along with the possibility of admission. It’s a game they use to manage their yield.
It’s so much better if a school simply rejects a student and allows them to move on. Some students have been holding out hope since they submitted their ED applications months ago. |
Yea, this isn’t cool of UVA. It wouldn’t kill Dean J to provide an update. |
I blame the parents. Manage expectations. Important life skill. |
Sure, parents shouldn’t push their kids toward schools that they aren’t qualified for. The problem is that many of these waitlisted kids are imminently qualified, but due to institutional goals, didn’t meet the school’s desire for rural, 1st Gen, star swimmer, saxophone player or whatever. It’s no surprise that waitlisted students are disappointed and stringing them along is cruel. I hope a lot of kids who are still waitlisted end up telling the schools no thanks if offered a spot. |
+1 Some of these people must be new to the US or they didn’t apply to selective colleges that had waitlists. This is just part of how it works. |
Perhaps the update is no update. |
Just take the Wise option. |
You sound like a real peach. Good grief. |
Based on the experience at our high school, I wonder if their in-state yield this year was higher than expected. |
Does anyone know the exact instate and out of state yield percentage? In state yield is always very high due to low cost. |
