Important life skill.[/quote] Sure, parents shouldn’t push their kids toward schools that they aren’t qualified for. The problem is that many of these waitlisted kids are imminently qualified, but due to institutional goals, didn’t meet the school’s desire for rural, 1st Gen, star swimmer, saxophone player or whatever. It’s no surprise that waitlisted students are disappointed and stringing them along is cruel. I hope a lot of kids who are still waitlisted end up telling the schools no thanks if offered a spot.
