Ratings have crashed since she took over for Maddow.

Who? And why does it matter? |
Because Maddow was a force of nature. No one can replace her. |
Yes. I like Jen Psaki well enough, but I'm not DVRing her like I am with Maddow. |
Because Maddow is awesome. Psaki can’t just bounce into a time slot and automatically claim Maddow’s audience. Not many people could. |
1) peppermint Patty and, 2) it / she does not matter at all. |
Because she’s insufferable? |
I honestly can’t believe anyone watches cable news at all. I think all the “viewers” are waiting rooms. |
Well, yeah, that’s actually what the ratings show. Over 90 to 95% of the audience are bored pensioners. All these cable “news” shows, the “comedy” news shows, Bill Maher, and panel shows like The View are basically fake state propaganda. The media echo chamber pumps them up with clips, tweets, podcast discussions, and print stories to perpetuate this illusion they’re in any way relevant. They’re not. The vast majority of Americans don’t have a freaking clue who Jake Tapper, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, let alone who Jen Psaki is. |
+1. She acts her shit doesn’t stink but she’s not attractive, charming, or intelligent. She’s actually grating and repulsive. And her colleague Nicolle Wallace is somehow even worse. |
We can ignore this dumbass who revealed their dumbassery by claiming not to know who Jen Psaki is. |
I am watching some segments on youtube. I really like her delivery and her cadence. But, I get really weird about political figures becoming experts and talking heads after leaving office. I mean, she worked for the other guy, so her credibility is shot in my head. Yeah, all of them bash Trump all the time, which I love, but it is always in the back of my mind that she was a Democratic WH spokesperson. |
She has zero charisma or charm. No one wants to watch Peppermint Patty for a whole hour. |
Nicole is at least amusing with the Farrah Fawcett hair and her weird lady of the manor attitude. I can't stand her but will watch to laugh at her. Jen Psaki is not even good as a joke. |
I think cable news as an industry has pretty much run its course. The market for opinionated news-based content has rapidly shifted to podcasts and substack. Those diligently still watching MSNBC, Fox, and CNN are invariably going to be older people with cable television who are stuck in routines and habits. But that market is not being replenished with younger viewers.
I wish we had an American version of BBC - competent, professional, informative. US cable news brands are nothing more than noise machines. I'm amazed there are any viewers at all for a CNN or MSNBC panel show. And Fox is nothing more than a dangerous and brain-melting cult. |
