DD wants to invite 10-12 friends to a dinner followed by ice cream somewhere nearby. We’re in a Bethesda. Any ideas about place? Summerhouse comes to mind, but they are super formal about reservations for a table that big and can’t accommodate us on the day we want… :-/ |

I second Cheesecake Factory. Teens really love it, there’s always groups of them dressed up at our local one. I think it feels kind of upscale to them? More importantly the menu is massive so everyone will be able to find and order something they like and the food is still pretty decent overall. They will think it’s exciting to choose from all the cheesecakes. |
I agree with Cheesecake Factory but I’d give some guidelines on what they can order with that number of girls. It could get out of hand between drinks, appetizers, meals and cheesecake. |
Mine loves Melting Pot. |
Good idea! |
Cheesecake Factory is popular with teens. I don’t know why - the food absolutely sucks! And it’s super expensive. But it’s a nice ambience. |
Learn from my mistake. Definitely go over the guidelines. I took my DD and about 8 of her friends to a Chinese restaurant for her 14th birthday and sat at another table. The bill was over $1,000 (including tax and tip) when they were done. They ordered all these mocktails, apps, etc and I didn’t realize it. The kids don’t know what they’re doing and it just ends up super expensive. |
Agree… It cost almost $150 for me and 2 kids there recently! Portions are huge. What about Maggianos? |
