Dessert for bbq

What do you make for dessert for a bbq? I usually do something very easy like brownies and ice cream. I don’t want to make a pie. I don’t love desserts from Whole Foods. Would love ideas!

In addition to brownies and cookies, offer some fresh fruit or fruit salad. I am surprised at how well fruit is received by the adults as well as the kids.

Take a whole watermelon.
Cut a hole in it.
Put a vodka 100proof bottle opened up into the hole upside down, and set it in the fridge overnight.
Slice it up at the party.

Honestly, I've had this and I think it's a terrible thing to do to a watermelon. It doesn't taste good and most people will be disappointed to find it's not just a yummy watermelon.

It’s not quite watermelon season, next month. Do strawberries, they’re in season.

To each their own, but I cannot take anyone over 10 who uses the word yummy seriously.

I ball up melon, or buy a couple of pounds of Italian cookies from a bakery.
