I was at a party this afternoon. People brought various small cut up treats- smore bars/ chocolate peanut butter chip bars/ brownies. They were great because you could walk around with them on a napkin while socializing and I got to try several types.

Hand pies. All of the goodness of pie, way less mess and fuss. https://smittenkitchen.com/2008/08/bourbon-peach-hand-pies/ See also: slab pies. https://smittenkitchen.com/2009/07/sour-cherry-slab-pie/ Pie crust is so easy: https://smittenkitchen.com/2019/03/extra-flaky-pie-crust/

Look up any recipe on that site and you'll have a winner. You could also go with cookies, brownies, or bars, but pie crust says effort without being much effort, and pre-portioned pieces means no messy cutting or itty bitty tiny slices and glop that spills out.

Melon and Italian cookies are both two great disappointments in the food world.

Those sound amazing. Are they messy or do you have a recipe that makes them turn out (see what I did there) pretty tidily?

Grilled peaches, ice cream, homemade granola on top. Perfect!

Leftover grilled peaches (if any) become salsa for fish tacos the next night(s)
