You were an Army brat and swore you would never marry a military man... and you didn't. You met DH at a friend's wedding right after college. He had a girlfriend at the time and you thought he was a little arrogant and drank a little too much. But you had mutual friends and when you settled in the DC area, you often found yourself at the same parties with him. Eventually (1 or 2 girlfriends later), he asked you out. You didn't want to live together and you suspect that he always felt a little pressured into proposing, but your marriage is pretty solid, although you know he would say there's not enough sex. Honestly, about twice/month is all you can manage! DH is an accounting manager and you work as an office assistant in the elementary school.

You bought a small cape in NOVA and did a bump-out after Ryan was born. It took a while to get pregnant with Kate, and you were worried maybe you had fertility issues, but things ultimately clicked on their own. DH suggested more than once that maybe you just stick with one, but you knew better

Poor Ryan is often the odd man out. Kate & Michael get along so well, and Ryan is a little too bossy, a little too particular, a little too intense.

Elise's attitude has ramped up a lot lately. Her walls are plastered with pictures of Gia Guidice from Real Housewives of New Jersey, and you won't let her watch the show anymore. You're pretty sure she sneaks it when you're not at home, or when she's at a friend's house. Elise says she wouldn't mind how much of a hard time you give her if like Theresa, you also gave her an iPhone, huge catered parties, and everything Gia gets.

Charlotte confessed that she misses her twin, but has thrown herself into competitive gymnastics, horseback riding and travel soccer to console herself. DH is worried she's doing too much but keeps paying the bills. He just wants his girls to be happy. He told you Elise's name should have been Alyssa or Eliza! For the most part, DH lets you do whatever you want with the girls. He works long hours and travels sometimes (you think he goes to strip clubs on business trips but have no proof), so spoils all of you to make up for being away so much. That's how you got your Lexus SUV. And how Charlotte got her horse.

You grew up in Oregon and Seattle. You went to the East Coast for college. Majored in childhood education, with an emphasis on Montessori. One of the requirements before your first Montessori teaching job was to take a CPR/First aid course. You fell in love with the instructor, and soon began doing "CPR" in the bedroom (not on a dummy in the classroom You were relieved to discover that the instructor was also a doctor, and raking in the dough!!! You got married, and taught in a Montessori school (taking maternity leave for each child, and returning to the classroom. SAH is not for you.) Lately, you have been seriously considering taking the kids abroad for a year to see the world! Husband is in favor of this, as well. You are both adventurous travelers, and need a change of pace, so the time seems to be right for this.

So, so well done and so bizarrely accurate re:where DH and I met. He wasn't the instructor but a fellow classmate in a CPR class, but seriously, with that level of detail I think we can overlook it! I am from Seattle, did attend school on the East Coast, and while I didn't major in ECE I nannied for several years before becoming a math teacher (and DO love Montessori). Husband is not a doctor and (to DC's standards) isn't raking in the dough, but we're very happy and do have money set aside to take the children traveling, which we did quite a lot of before they came along. THANK YOU! What a blast!

A and H were born when mom was 16. Grandparents pushed for a shotgun wedding, but their was no way dad (if you can call him that) was going through with it. He split to who-knows-where. Mom got her GED, lived with her parents because she needed their help, and started pursuing a medical coding certificate online. Then there was the abortion. She didn't want to do it, but she couldn't have another one and her parents would have killed her. She never told anyone except one girlfriend and she felt really bad about it-she'd gone to the March for Life in high school like everyone else. After that, she started going to Mass with her mom. She started going to more Church activities, partly because she needed to feel like she was back on the right track, and partly because they were the only activities her parents didn't give her a hard time about. When she met Xavier at a Parish bowling trip, she felt like he was the answer to her prayers. He is tall, dark, and conservative. Her parents were so relieved that they didn't even give her a hard time about the fact that he wasn't born in the US and isn't white. Mary was born a year after the wedding, named after her grandmother and, of course, the Virgin Mother.
