People prepare in advance for expected loss of income. Many military families for unlisted live paycheck to paycheck. Fed family here and while we’ve been expecting job loss since January and saving for it, I’ve been following information on food distribution sites for the past few weeks. Not there yet, but I expect this to go until at least January 2026 if not the next election.

If theyre on the same schedule as everyone else, they received less than half of their normal pay. That’s a big deal considering how many military families live paycheck to paycheck.

Well they know they aren't getting paid. A lot of newly enlisted like to buy new cars so will be missing payments soon. Also just not a good idea to fail to pay your soldiers. I'm sure China is out there holding out stacks of cash already.
