I love bread, pasta and cake but they hate me

Just removing these items leads to very fast weight loss. Lost 2lbs in two days just not eating them and normally it takes me weeks. I'm sad I'll have to either live without my favorite foods or be heavy. Even one slice of bread a day seems like it's too much.

Same. I’ve been off them for about 15 years. It becomes second nature.

When you reduce carbs you lose water weight which is not the same as fast loss.

Exactly. You did not lose 2lbs of fat in two days. And you can actually eat those foods and not be heavy but it requires portion control.

I actually don’t think so bc a little bit makes me feel bloated.

Bloated=water retention

Just eat and enjoy. What is the point of living if you don't eat what you want to eat?

These are also salty foods. Your weight loss is just water weight from consuming less sodium.

Stupid idea. You have to eat healthy if you want to live a good life and a long life.

My MIL developed a lactose allergy in her 70s, and now she can't eat anything with dairy in it, which includes many cakes, breads, pastries, etc. I resolved to eat as much cake, break, and pastry as I can because it would be awful to have restrained myself for years, only to get to the point where I can't eat them at all even if I wanted to.

I'd rather die early having enjoyed a good life of eating bread, pasta, and cake.

But then if you weigh less on the scale AND you look less bloated, how is it not "weight loss
"? Ultimately whether it's fat or water you look better.

Is this a serious question?

Different poster here. Probably and I agree with them if they are just looking to lose a few pounds and feel better. Bloating sucks. Not helpful if they are looking to lose 10-20 pounds or more although again, bloating sucks. So they do feel better. Weight loss isn't all about fat loss. Especially when it's just a couple of pounds to lose. Sounds like they are becoming mindful about what their digestive tract will handle

My sister developed a gluten allergy after a medical condition and is now so much thinner than I am ! (I used to always be the skinny one.). But I can’t do it. Choosing between fat with gluten or skinny gluten free, I chose fat with gluten every day. I don’t think I’m dangerously fat, just “I look crappy in picture now” fat. I guess I had my decade of crop tops in the 80s!
