| It’s a Mexican navy ship. Not sure where PP got the pirate ship? |
Yeah ... definitely not a pirate ship. |
| It was there for fleet week. |
|
No, it was there for a few days before heading on a world tour and was supposed to also be here next year on July 4 in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
It is training vessel for Mexico but it looks like a pirate ship. It is an awful tragedy, some died. https://nypost.com/2025/05/17/us-news/new-yorkers-watch-in-horror-as-mexican-navy-ship-hits-brooklyn-bridge/ |
| Bad or no planning. The captain and top service members need to be fired. |
| 2 people dead, more injured. Terrible. |
| Not all sailed vessels are pirate ships. |
| What happened, the engines died and it got caught in the current or something? Or was it the tugboat’s fault? |
| Looks like it has power to me |
Seems like it was the engine that failed. |
| Arghhh, mateys, we be taken down this Brooklyn Bridge! |
| Masts have a fixed height. The Brooklyn Bridge also has a fixed height. This should never have happened. When do the manslaughter charges get filed. |
Clearance can change based on water level. It's still a huge eff up, but it's not like driving a truck under a highway bridge. |
Definitely sue the city for not having warning signs or building a taller bridge. They have had plenty of time to do these things. |
