MAHA = nanny state conservatives?

So how are we supposed to "make" people healthy exactly?

It's a noble motive, but it's funny to see people who pilloried Michelle Obama for attacking the American way of life a decade ago jumping on the MAHA bandwagon.

just another stroke of Republican genius. democrats should learn from them. Rs don’t care about ideological coherence. They saw that D covid mask and vaccination policies triggered a group of voters and decided to just go after them. Dems in contrast still insist on ideological purity.

Ideological purity is dumb but ironically I'm finding MAGA can't even get their own "ideological purity" straight. Like "there are only two genders, male and female" binaries while at the exact same time going around making stoopid ass comments about "I'm an alpha and Dems are soy boy betas" suggesting there's a spectrum and that it's not binary.

How about we ban the poisons in the food supply?

Food is healthier in Europe without the poisons.

Trump administration is going in the wrong direction. Gutting FDA, USDA, EPA, CDC and other agencies that keep us healthier. We're getting MORE microplastics, PFAS and forever chemicals, MORE pesticides, and so on into our food supply as well as worsening drinking water and air quality. And along with it FEWER inspectors and labs and testing, so MORE cases of people sickened by foods tainted with listeria, e. coli and so on. MAHA is a joke.

Come on, Republicans. DO BETTER.

News Flash:
Americans now have the sickest children in the world. I doubt that was the case before “federal agencies were keeping us healthier”.

Gut them all and start over. Keep the pharmaceutical industry far away. Ban the poisons from the food supply.

Really? With all the regulations you've been pushing over the decades? How could that possibly be?

Grok says the federal register has 107K pages in 2024 and had 96K pages in 2016. All those rules, policies, guidelines, regulations, studies, processes and procedures and we still have the sickest children?

How could that possibly be??

Because Republicans prevent children from accessing health care and education.

And you think deregulating, more environmental contaminants in our water and farming soil, less oversight of our food quality, but banning dyes while being a yo yo on basic vaccinations will solve this?

We can agree that things can be improved, but the MAHA tactics ain't it. It is like ranting about fixing a little spec of dust in the corner of the room and completely and willfully ignoring the giant pile of sh*t in the.mkddlem(and making the sh*t worse).

MAHalA is an ineffective, sad, joke.

Too much bureaucracy. Too much paper. After a while it becomes noise.

Entities that try to follow it have such time lags over following complex and arduous processes and procedures Washington has set up, that it actually ends up harming people

Legislation as a weapon to drive competitors out of business and stifle innovation.

Literally, too much of a good thing. The "giant pile of sh*t" is the overregulation... and democrats not knowing what to do. So they do the only thing they know to do... demand more of it.

How can it be?
Are you naive or ignorant?

Do you not understand how regulation happens?

Do you think American industry stands still and isn't constantly coming up with new pesticides and food additives and packaging and other things that mess with our food supply? NO. They don't. Industry keeps coming up with new things, some of which harm people. And when the government figures out it's harmful they are on the hook to respond with regulations.

This is an utter and complete bullshit take. And whoever told you this is a disingenuous liar.

Have the "concepts of a plan" come together yet? Is banning food dyes and reducing SNAP while keeping PFAs in the water from our home faucets it?

This is... It? The plan?

Where are you seeing that Americans have the sickest children in the world?

If true, it’s probably due to two things:
1. American children are less likely to die of diseases that kill children in poorer countries, but are often left with chronic illnesses.
2. American children are less likely to have access to universal healthcare that children in developed countries have. This means problems go undetected longer and are not treated until they become more difficult to treat.

Some regulations come into play which only large players can afford. The smaller players are run out of business or absorbed for pennies on the dollar by the larger players, or they move overseas.

That reduces competition in that field. Those who are left adjust prices upward because they now have more leverage thru reduced competition. That hurts the consumer.

You wonder why all the "mom and pop" stores and manufacturers have gone out of business and we're left with mostly big box players. In many cases, mountains of regulation did it.
