What *should* Democrats be doing?

Jeff's title post today was spot on, as usual. He stated that Democrats are twiddling their thumbs as a four-alarm fire engulfs our democracy. He pointed out a lot of what Democrats should not be doing, which is all correct. He mentioned that Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez went and spoke and drew huge crowds. Great.
What *should* other democrats be doing? Can we get specific and then demand it? I agree that vetoing the crypto bill is obvious. What else? Can they bring Congress to a standstill? BArnstorm the nation? Protest in the streets? What next in the leadership of the moment? |

Notice how AOC’s and Bernie’s little pep rally roadshow went dark? Three weeks ago they were filling small stadiums and drawing crowds.
Then they stopped. Cold. Also, notice how David Hogg got shut up quickly after he said he wanted some Dems primary’s? Now they’re trying to oust him from the DNC. You Dems are having trouble with a palace coup right now. And you’ve got plenty of experience with it since y’all knee-capped Creepy Joe last summer. Your party has sh!t the bed. | Vote no on what Trump is doing. They won't be able to pass a budget because of the pressure to lower taxes(deduct and local taxes). Some of their members are voting no because they are only raising the deduction to $30,000. |

Senate: use every procedural tool in the book to delay and obstruct confirmations and legislation. This includes deny unanimous consent, call quorums. Dem senators love to say they are helpless. They aren’t!
House members can hold hearings. Hold empty chair town halls for neighboring districts so those votes can see they don’t eat children. |

There is plenty going on to fight the corrupt fascists, and you are under no obligation to put in work to provide reports on it to the MAGAs losers. Could there be more? Sure, but we won’t do it by hanging out with and wasting energy on these traitors. It’s like arguing with child molesters when they tell you that they think that children are sexy. Bernie’s encouraging young ppl to run for office. He’s just started a partnership with Run for Something- they train young people. They have over 5,000 sign ups since announced last month. |

| There really isn’t much they can do until they take back the House. And right now, they are rudderless. Now is the time for the post-Biden voices to make themselves heard. I see AOC, Newsome, Pritzker all putting themselves out there. But unfortunately, at the practical level, Schumer and Jeffries are running the show. And they inspire no one. Plus, without a majority there’s not much they can do. |

| What were they doing at this point in 2017? Mainly lots of protests. I suppose that worked - after taking back the House in 2018 there was a lot more action (passed some bills that died in the Senate, an impeachment that died in the Senate). Without the pandemic Trump would probably have been re-elected in 2020. This should end well. |
