You don't understand because you are dumb. My kid's team will become MLS2. If MLS2 stays BY, how are we going to play a big tournament like the Surf Cup? Will we spend money to fly there and to play up and be destroyed? |
They (USSF) and all the other big leagues are literally working on all the details for how that will work. MLSN is staying BY with biobanding option. |
BY crowd is trying hard on mental gymnastics convince themselves MLSN will stay in BY. It is good for mental health for the next 2 months. |
BY people trying to act like Premier league doesn't exist, and isn't based on a Sep.-Aug. model. |
I think most have moved on and preparing for the change. Much of this thread now -- to quote Bill Murray -- "It just doesn't matter." |
Why does anyone care if MLSN stays By? They have biobanding so your kids can play down now if you wanted? ECNL and the other leagues are strict with following BY so it makes sense people would want them to change to whatever favors their kid. Also for what it’s worth MLSN/GA are staying BY and GA will add “late developer” for all age groups. |
What is "late developer"? How you can have a late developer at 17 on the girls side? Seems like a rule ripe for abuse. Just go SY or BY. |
Should have all the info by June. But will only be abused if GA allows it to be. Also sounds like GA will not allow clubs to use guest or discovery players for more than 2 games per season. Also If you play GA you only can guest play up to 5 games a year outside your own team. Unless it’s an ODP or regional team.Which won’t count against those 5 games. |
So it sounds like it is de facto SY. Unless they are going to make girls submit to exams. Gross. |
ECNL GA MLSN2 all seem concerned about cross league play and poaching.
Interesting. |
Lmao MLSN doesn't care about all these mommie and daddy concerns about age alignment with D teams in rec leagues. They've always been in favor of BY and this is why US Soccer said different leagues can follow their own age registration guidelines rather than mandating SY for all.
All the speculation about MLSN having to go to SY is wishful thinking from parents of Q4 kids who think their kid is suddenly gonna be signed by DC United academy because of this change. |
It's a legitimate question; how will they fuse the two registrations together? |
Poor BY parent…it’s ok…you have another year of your kid playing against kids a grade below… |
Do they really need to "fuse" the organizations together? They're not actually "together" now by just having the same age registration. It's still the same overall pool of players under the organization. The birth dates of kids doesn't change. |
I have very young kids born in both Aug and Sept - both on other ends of cutoff. I don't have grandiose aspirations of college or MLS for them at age 7 and 8 - lol. I actually think SY is a good change. Good luck on your pursuit to DC United. But here's a newsflash for you. If you have an Sept kid, he didn't suddenly get better just by playing down. If you have an Aug kid, he didn't suddenly get worse by being the youngest. MLSN understands this. Parents don't. |
