Ending Energy Star

Anonymous
Trump is sending EPA’s Energy Star program for home appliances. These appliances save consumers $40 billion per year.

I just might take Canada’s offer to fast track doctors into their society.

Another lawsuit. Energy Star is enacted by statute and federal purchases are required to be energy star compliant.

Trump government = another fail

Is this more of Trump's bizarre derangement about things like "you have to flush the toilet 10 times" and "water just dribbles out of the shower head" which aren't even true?

Or his stunted, outdated 1970s-era understanding of things like solar power? And "the science doesn't really know" when science is not on his side?

Good lord, Republicans! Why do you keep indulging this man in his lack of knowledge and his weird fantasies? Just stop it already.

The brain-addled fool is surrounded by yes men who lack the courage and integrity to say "sir, it's mandated by law, you'll have to get legislation if you want to change it."

No, this is more DOGE cuts. The EPA plans to roll back to Reagan-era staffing levels - so that means they'll be firing all of the Energy Efficiency employees including Energy Star.

How efficient!

What gave DOGE the authority to cut statutorily mandated programs?

No one, obviously. But they're doing it anyway, and while lower courts have variously enjoined or permitted dismantling of congressionally created or mandated agencies or groups, the Supreme Court has not yet spoken. Even when they do, the president has decided that Article III cannot tell Article II what to do, and so far, Article I is leaving it all up to Article III. Apparently we have a king now.

Checks out.

They also dismantled CFPB, because they hate everyday Americans and begrudge anyone trying to save them money and heartache.

Republican leaders hate the rest of us who have to save money.

I think it should be discussd how that program results in the use of undersized compressors in refrigerators and freezers, which run too often and prematurely fail and wind up in dumpsters way too soon.

Got a link? My stainless counter depth Whirlpool fridge is somehow ten years old. It still looks good and has had no repairs. Ice and water through the door work flawlessly. I have all Energy Star appliances, use LED bulbs, and a high efficiency two zone heat pump. My latest power bill is $138 for a 3200 sq ft home. That’s cheaper than a solar panel payment. During the winter it averaged about $168.

Screw your statutes. It's not Constitutionally mandated.

Now they're rolling out heat pumps for home water heaters. They're failing prematurely.
