| Do people ever get off the waitlist? This is for the youngest age. |
| I’ve never heard of a waitlist. What did the message say? |
This year the youngest age group had 8 teams. Maybe for next year they don't want to get to 9. |
|
My kid got his offer last night and we have 48 hours to accept or decline... waitlist means what it means... if kids decline then they offer the next kid on the list and so forth... i wouldn't hold my breath if I were you... tryout somewhere else to give your kid options
|
If there are 8 teams, do you really care about a waitlist? Best case scenario your kid gets on an 8th team with an 8th team coach. Why not look at a neighboring club? |
The 8th team coach at Arlington for 2017B is actually the current coach of the 2015B Pre-Academy team that are awesome. The 8th team is comprised of mainly 2018 players to get them ready to be the top team the following year. |
Seriously. Might even be better off just flat out playing rec soccer. Arlington carries probably the MOST teams overall top to bottom, LS is similar. If they want travel, chances are better at a neighboring club. |
JFC. 8 teams?!?! Good grief Arlington is a cash cow. |
Do you know how ridiculous this sounds? |
Oh I know how ridiculous this all is for my 6 year old to be stressing making travel soccer. It is what it is. Just putting out the context that especially at the younger age groups the coach assignments aren't always equivalent with the team rank. And at this age just being on any team and getting to train and play games is all that matters. Cream will eventually rise to the top no matter what team you are on initially. |
| Just for context on the 8 teams.... Arlington had over 200 kids tryout for 2017B so they could have more if they wanted more money lol |
This does not change the fact that it is the 8th team and will get no interest from the club or coach. |
Holy FKKK! Arlington needs to limit the teams. Then, there would be a stronger Rec program. At the youngest ages, development can be had w.out paying so much $$ and being 'travel'. |
When you are 6 or 7 just playing 3 times a week and a game on weekends no matter the coach is better than anything else you are going to get out of rec soccer. Obviously it al comes at a cost lol. There is a reason Arlington Soccer Association annual budget is around 6M as a non profit! |

I thought there was a birth rate drop off.
2007 was supposed to be the peak birth year. College admissions is supposed to ease up tremendously in the next 5-6 years. Why are there so many teams with such a smaller number of kids---or are they all living in Arlington--lol? I could see 8 if we are talking about boys AND girls. But 8 teams in one gender--good lord! |
