| Basically the title I see a basement apartment in Potomac could that be good what are my options moving here to care for my mother and have a 8 year old. |

There are a lot of perfectly adequate elementary schools, and your child is pretty young.
Instead of making yourself miserable as the poorest person in a wealthy district, why not rent someplace that is convenient for you/your mom? If you need to move for MS, you can, but honestly there are tons of good schools outside of Bethesda/Potomac. |
What are some areas I should be looking in? I haven’t lived in this area in 15 years and that was in dc proper so understandably I’m not really caught up. |
What else is important to you? Metro access? Commute? Ability of your mom to access senior services? Nearby faith community? Anything else that would improve your quality of life? |
I have a car so no metro, hour max to dc is with traffic. My mom has a health aid and I would be coming over daily after work so no need for senior services, she lives in clarksburg though since it’s after work distance doesn’t matter honestly as long as it’s an hour to dc and maybe doesn’t have high crime rates I’m good. |
| Are you dissatisfied with the schools in Clarksburg? Where do you work? |
| A basement apartment with a child might be hard. I would prefer to move further out if it were me. Check out the Dufief neighborhood in N Potomac. It’s a great elementary school and more affordable overall so you might be able to get a house. There are also townhouses and small houses in Rockshire that feed into Fallsmead and Lakewoood. We also heard nice things over the years about Jones Lane and there is more of a range of price points there. |
| Glenora hills Lakewood elementary |
The DOT headquarters, also clarksburg seemed too far. |
Will check it out really appreciate it. |

How about something like this? https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5712-Chapman-Mill-Dr-APT-320-Rockville-MD-20852/2124869308_zpid/
Solid schools all the way through. If I were you, I'd limit to a handful of MS zones, on the assumption that you can stay put through 8th grade and then reevaluate if needed. I'd focus on North Bethesda MS, Silver Creek MS, and Takoma Park MS. |
Honestly it looks perfect, and schools are high rated too. I will have to look more at that general area and the other you mentioned thanks! |
