There are a lot of perfectly adequate elementary schools, and your child is pretty young. Instead of making yourself miserable as the poorest person in a wealthy district, why not rent someplace that is convenient for you/your mom? If you need to move for MS, you can, but honestly there are tons of good schools outside of Bethesda/Potomac.
What are some areas I should be looking in? I haven’t lived in this area in 15 years and that was in dc proper so understandably I’m not really caught up.
What else is important to you? Metro access? Commute? Ability of your mom to access senior services? Nearby faith community? Anything else that would improve your quality of life?
I have a car so no metro, hour max to dc is with traffic. My mom has a health aid and I would be coming over daily after work so no need for senior services, she lives in clarksburg though since it’s after work distance doesn’t matter honestly as long as it’s an hour to dc and maybe doesn’t have high crime rates I’m good.
