| Class sizes, discipline, just overall preference — I’ve always wondered. |
| Because I don’t want screens or woke BS. |
|
Because for a few years my child couldn’t handle public school and needed the extra supports and nurturing a class of 10 and a school of 100 provided that a class of 30 and a school of 700 couldn’t (no IEP/learning disability, just emotional/extreme sensory struggles in early elementary)
The goal was always to transition back to public ($$$) but for a while it wasn’t an option. |
Thanks. |
| Lots of fights and my kid couldn’t handle them he’s a docile kid and was also being picked on. |
| To keep them away from the poors. |
| Why would the answer be different if poster lived in Moco or DC? What’s special about NOVA that a parent needs to justify sending their kid to private? |
I guess op thought if NOVA is more expensive then both of the aforementioned places that parents would make their kids tough it out. Which to be fair is common in the DC area. |
| Simple answer? Because we can. |
| So many reasons- Google ACHS. |
| Easy way to launder grandparent’s cash. |
Our situation is not identical, but somewhat similar. Need a small class size for now. Fingers crossed thar things improve. |
This. To avoid metal detectors and the occasional stabbing. |
It’s common everywhere the dc area isn’t special in that regard. |
| Because the public school wasn't safe for my LGBTQ kid. |
