Meant to watch one episode and ended up watching 5. It’s so good. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The plot is vapid, but I found the cultural element fascinating. I've always been interested in Inuk culture. |
LOVED it. |
Loved it kind of like I loved the recent series set in the Navajo Nation. |
Vapid? How so? |
I love it, too. It's such a gem. DH and I are 4 episodes in and trying to pace ourselves a bit because we love it so much.
I disagree with the person who said the plot was vapid. A lot of people are automatically dismissive of stories that center a young woman/mom and stories with humor. I am very much rooting for Siaja as a character and love watching the growth we've seen as her perception of herself changes. |
OP here. Agree wholeheartedly! |
Also love it!

I binged it and love it too. I just wish that they had chosen some actual Inuk songs to showcase in the show instead of mainstream pop. |
Anyone watch this with teenagers? I see it's rated TV 14 and was wondering if it would be appropriate for a sensitive 14 year old who does not want to see any violence or physical romance beyond a basic kiss but has always been fascinated by Arctic cultures. |

What series was that? |
Spoilers. There is a raunchy (and horribly denigrating) almost sex scene in one of the episodes. It is uncomfortable. |
The commercials made it seem like it’d be some terribly hokey white savior plot but it’s pretty compelling and the cultural element makes it a much watch. The main actress is an absolute star. I highly recommend watching the entire season.
Spoiler: the momma’s storyline 😭 |
