How are you feeling if you kid is deciding between Harvard and another school?

Curoius how others in this position are navigating these uncertain times....

Why would you consider current conditions related to going to a school that's nearly 400 years old?

Are you afraid to live in the DMV after the events of Jan 6, 2021?

Go Harvard.

It depends on what schools you are comparing. Stanford and MIT are in better positions.

As a pretty uninvolved alum, I sent them a large donation yesterday and will I be going out of my way to hire Harvard alums. n of 1 here but I do think there will be an energized H network in the coming years.

Current conditions are relevant when you are attending right now …

Definitely pro Harvard right now -
I’d feel proud!

Harvard’s muscular response to the Trump Administration’s demands has renewed my faith in the institution. Others must follow.

My son will be joining the c/o 2029 and I am absolutely STOKED!!! It was his dream, he did it, and I am SO proud for him to join an institution that doesn't bend to fascism. VERITAS!!!!

President Garber’s email about the decision said that the administration expected them to monitor the viewpoints of students, faculty, and staff, and to “reduce the power” of those with unfavorable ones.

I felt very proud that they said heck no.

My point is...are classes still happening? Undergrad education is relatively affordable to offer.

All the high-quality research universities are under threat from this administration.

I have no personal connection to Harvard but read the news. After Larry Summers' infamous remarks about women and the Claudine Gay plagiarism debacle, I'm actually pleased to see Harvard showing some real intellectual leadership when it really counts.

Harvard has had some serious missteps and is trying to mitigate damage to their brand. Big headline today, but we shall see what really happens. Frankly, i'm pretty skeptical about the integrity of that institution. But congrats to those who are excited to attend.

Would never let them go to Harvard.

Interesting, bc my harvard alum friends say the opposite, they have ceased donations and look elsewhere for hiring. But harvard has a global brand, deep pockets and a strong international donor base, so time will tell.
