I have dandruff and sometimes I get crusty scabs on my scalp. It's gross! What shampoo is good to solve this?
Crusty scabs sounds more like psoriasis than dandruff. Have you had it looked at?
Yes, but it's been a while and I completely forget what was prescribed. |
Neutrogena shampoo
I've had scabs on my scalp from seb derm. I've used various prescription shampoos and treatments, right now I'm using prescription ketoconazole shampoo but it is also available OTC.
Clean up your diet, change your haircare routine, and start using a natural boar bristle brush to brush your scalp and hair.
Have it checked by a dermatologist. I have what feels like scabs and they are seborrheic keratoses. The dermatologist can tell you options for treatment.
It's seborrheic dermatitis. Try Nizoral.
Nizoral. Let the shampoo sit on your scalp for 15 minutes. Use only this shampoo and use every alternate day for two weeks. You can also use this shampoo on the body to get rid of acne etc. Leave on for 15 minutes at least. Change your pillowcase every day. Use a clean separate towel for hair. Soak and wash all your combs and brush in shampoo. |
It's fungus. Use ketoconazole shampoo (Nizoral) and it will be gone in two weeks.
They didn't say anything about it itching it's mostly likely psoriasis. |
Nizoral. It will change your life, but also it will get worse for about a week before it gets better when you’re using.
do they bleed? mine do
psoriasis there is also hard water around here use the hard water shampoo.
I alternate salicylic acid shampoo (T-Sal or Nizoral with salicylic acid) with an antifungal shampoo (traditional Nizoral) to clear it up.
