DH is hit on all the time. I think it’s funny. He quickly mentions he is “more than happily married” and doesn’t let anything happen beyond that.

It's not common for women to hit on men because they don't have to. Men who get hit on must be very very attractive because women find most men unattractive anyways. So the ones who actually catch women's attention are in an elite club.

No, not true about the elite. I have several types I may hit on and none are elite really.
I like the calm older gentleman like my boss, and Latinos who can dance, cook, and who do physically hard work.
Latinos are much better at recognizing that I'm interested.
Now, my boss is clueless as heck or plays hard to get. Both are cute. Manager suggested I cornered him and that he would love it. I'm not convinced.

What does being hit on actually entail? Asking to get a drink sometimes? Or just a compliment?

Sometimes I get the feeling that the posters who say they're hit on constantly (or their spouse are) may just be misinterpreting.
