RTO:Traffic is atrocious

Anonymous
Every day is bad now. I don’t recall a time when my Friday commute was bad but even that’s taking two full hours from downtown DC to Rockville. I’m hoping some offices will begin to scale back some RTO. I don’t know how much longer I can deal with traffic this bad.

Can you drive to the metro and take that in? If it’s taking you two hours anyway wouldn’t you rather read or sleep during that time?

25 years ago Glenwood to Ballston was 2 hours on a Friday.

I'm a SAHW and I don't have any issues.

If it's DC to Rockville, can you park your car at your nearest metro station and use metro?

Go away.

Why would they scale back RTO?

DH has an 80 minute commute each way whether by metro or by car, and he would much rather get exercise walking to/from metro and zone out on the metro itself.

Yeah... I don't think they're going to do that unless there's an obvious benefit to the administration. They don't care how long it takes you to get home.

Yikes and its spring break for several DC schools.

OP, this thread is tone deaf and insensitive. Thousands of federal workers have been illegally robbed of their livelihoods, and 10,000 will be RIFed from HHS. Probably hundreds if not thousands of federal contracts have lost their jobs, too. Most of them would happily sit in traffic to earn money to feed their kids.

I’m a Fed and still complain about the traffic. All of this was completely unnecessary.

+1000. Take metro if you don’t like the traffic.
