This is horrifying. This is an in shape man in his prime. The dog he said he’s with all day every day went bonkers after a smoke alarm and tried to kill him — twice.
Mr Lowe has given the dog back to the adoption agency as he doesn’t trust it around his kids. He ought to sue the agency for fraud. This is not a “boxer”! https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/bachelor-alum-sean-lowe-attacked-212320465.html |
I give our fearce pit bull defender 2 minutes to show up and tell us how they're just misunderstood. |
Another day, another clickbait anti-pit post ![]() 1) Yes, it does most definitely look like a boxer. Know your breeds. 2) Crate. Train. Your. Dog. No excuses. 90% of the chaos in this story goes away if a smarter dog-owner crates the dog. 3) Waving your arms and flapping a towel around and jumping like an idiot while a loud noise causes chaos is going to get a dog's attention. 4) If this truly were a Deadly Pit Bull (mix) wouldn't everyone be dead? Wouldn't he have had his face eaten by the "couch hippo"? Wouldn't there be no survivors left to tell the tale? I mean, choose your narrative here... But the takeaway shouldn't be "don't adopt a boxer (mix)." It should be "Crating your dog dramatically reduces chance of injury, and gives your dog a safe place to be in the event of unexpected chaos." |
*fierce and it's not a pit bull. Look at it. Then look at a picture of a boxer. Then look at a "pit bull". Then look back at this dog. But you don't want to follow facts, or logic, you just want to hate on pit bulls and start fights with smarter people. Ya look stupid, but okay. |
I am the opposite of a pit bull defender, and that is very much a boxer. |
Doesn't matter if it's a pit or a boxer. It attacked unprovoked. It should be destroyed. |
I hate pit bulls and love boxers and this does look like a boxer to me. Maybe not pure bred but definitely looks more boxer than pit. Boxers are not known as attack dogs or as having a particularly vicious bite—my guess is that this “rescue” had significant past trauma that was not disclosed or maybe not known by the rescue. I really wish rescues were required to do more extensive testing of dogs, particularly before sending to a family with kids and particularly if the history is unknown. |
Come on now OP, that is def a boxer. You cannot just add one crap photo and declare nonsense.
Any dog can bite, and cause serious damage. |
If you have to keep your dog locked up to not be eaten perhaps it’s time to reevaluate your pet. |
8, 6, and 5-year old kids. Large dog. Inexperienced dog owner. No crate. Chaos situation. ![]() And the dude had time to scold the dog., but not leash or contain it?! He alleges it was "...like a very stern like, ‘Moose. No. No.’" Twice. That is... an atypical "dog attack" to put it mildly. Of course, we're blaming... the dog? Ah, right, the "he just snapped!" narrative. "“He — I think it’s clear — experienced a lot of trauma before we got him and had something neurologically wrong with him, where just a switch flipped and he turned into an absolute killer, which was so weird.” Lowe added that Moose “really didn’t show any signs” that might indicate he would become so violent." My money says that dog showed a dozen signs the inexperienced owner who thought a stern talking to was appropriate dog discipline simply didn't have the education or experience to recognize. Especially since the only person the dog was aggressive toward was him. He left it in the house with his wife, unleashed and uncontained, while loading up the kids, and their doors just... blew open somehow? Great. Now we've got "killer boxers who just snap"... except we don't. We continue to have stupid owners making bad decisions about dog ownership and handling. So obviously it had to be a pit mix, because that's the only explanation (that doesn't require the owner/handler taking responsibility for the mess they made). ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm glad his kids didn't have to suffer physically for his stupidity. Sad that they'll lose their pet, and possibly have dog-related fears/trauma now. Some of y'all shouldn't own dogs. You don't know what you don't know, and it's dangerous for the dogs, for you, for your family members, and for the public. |
NP, that is not a pit bull. |
Actually I just looked at more pictures and it looks to me like a pit - boxer mix. So bite strength may have been greater than an average boxer. But clearly trauma background that was triggered by a pretty normal residential family life issue. Glad his kids were not there and his friends were able to help him get to ER quickly. |

If you have to use crazy rhetoric to make your point, maybe you don't have one. Crate training is good for all dogs, of all breeds, and provides a safe place for a dog to be in the event of an emergency. And this isn't "eaten". At all. He got bit. That's not "mauling" or "being eaten". At all. That's a dog bite. Unfortunate, but not even remotely "eaten". |
MAH SCHWEET PITTIE IS BEST FRIENDS WITH A BUTTERFLY AND WOULD NEVER BITE ANYTHING EVER!!!! MY LITTLE TINY BABY PITTIE JUST MAULED THE UPS GUY ONE TIME AND IT WAS HIS FAULT FOR RINGING THE DOORBELL AND THEN RUNNING AWAY WHEN SOMETHING RESEMBLING THE SMOKE MONSTER FROM “LOST” LEAPT AT HIM! |
