Parents can forget about advocacy at the County Council. The Council is only listening to MCEA.

I worked with Doug as a teacher. Great person and great teacher. Class act. As MCEA president, he was also fair and did not always rank and file with every dream wish of every teacher. He was clear also that he was not in the business of protecting bad teachers from accountability. I get we want to rage against everything and everything is a conspiracy but I believe Doug deserves and earns jobs. |
| No surprise. The County Council is 100% in bed with MCPS and has no intention of being critical or objective when it comes to MCPS. Hence why Essie McGuire has been able to shuffle roles between MCPS and the County Council seamlessly, with no one raising a word about how much of a conflict of interest that is. |
You know that every time you contact Council. |
| They are doing their job. MCPS is the issue. |
|
Oh no, muh Deep State.
|
| Of course MCEA owns the council. They're the biggest political organization in the county. |
| That is good news right? I love teachers. |
Great! Write a check for $10,000 and send it to MCPS today so other people don’t have to have their taxes raised! |
| I think it's important for MCEA to support teachers and not be against teachers when violence happens as it happens all the time. Many admin want to blame and fire teachers because there is no support for us and we are mandatory reporters. Admin hates when reports get written because it messes with their optics and then they retaliate. |
They didn't say teachers- they said MCEA. MCEA represents the interests of a select group of people, not all teachers. And certainly not students or parents. |

It makes perfect sense that the folks staffing the Education committee have an education background.
I have never met this guy, but it's not a conspiracy that he is a former teacher and then union staffer. That's a very common route for someone transitioning from education to politics. I'd be more alarmed if the Ed committee didn't have staff with appropriate backgrounds. |
It makes perfect sense that the folks staffing the Education committee have an EXTREMELY BIASED education background. Fixed it for you. There is a thing called conflict of interest but you Trump lovers have no idea what that means or how it taints government. You also love bribes, gifts and double dipping. |
| Why do you think the Apple ballot is so important? |
Dave Stein, the MCEA president, is playing this perfectly for his organization. Another union guy in power. |
