Leading candidate banned from Romanian elections

I don’t understand how this can happen. Calin Georgescu is the leading candidate in Romania and they have banned him from the election. How is this allowed in a democratic country?

I don't know about this election in this country but I know of another country where the leading candidate, who actually won the election, was actually disqualified. And was elected anyway...

Europe has many dictatorships disguised as democracies. They suppress free speech when it doesn’t align with their opinions. Georgescu is a victim of that corrupt system.
They cancelled the presidential election in December when they realized he was about to win. Now they are banning him completely.

People are going to blame Trump for the end of NATO, the EU, Democracy what have you, but its actually things like this that will lead to those events. Romania decided they didn't want to be the next proxy up against Russia, and the Eurocrats basically said "lol, get in the trench peasants."

The guy is highly compromised and a Russian asset, so I get it. That’s what should have been done here if anyone had any balls. But we’ve been neutered and now the country is crumbling, everyone lost. Romania probably learned what to from watching us.

This is the problem with today's Eurocrats, you think this is a big win because you got what you wanted in the short term. But you're not able to think this through years and moves down the road. This is how Putin keeps winning, because he's up against people with the time horizons of goldfish.

The current Eurocrats can't tolerate even the smallest loss, so they double down until they create lose-lose conditions. Like this very election, which is the result of so many failed doubling downs in Ukraine. Now NATO itself is at risk, all because the moronic Eurocrat couldn't take a small loss in Ukraine in 2022.
