Have already been to Toronto and Montreal. Best if it's in the east coast so we could drive there. TIA |
Churchill to see the aurora. |
You're city people? Quebec City is worth a visit. |
I want to go here to see the beluga whales. But it is far from everyplace! lol... |
Shakespeare in Stratford and the Shaw Festival. Amazing theater and cute towns. An hour outside Toronto. |
Definitely! |
Another vote for Quebec City. It’s charming.
Ottawa is surprisingly interesting. Good museums. I went to Halifax and Nova Scotia as a teenager and I remember it being a fun trip. Lots of driving, though. PEI if you were ever a fan of Anne of Green Gables. |
I really want to go to Banff. Looks so beautiful. |
Is it possible to visit Quebec City and Ottawa in 7 days? On the map they look far to drive from each other, or is it best to ditch the car in one city and take the train to the other? Which one is more walkable and won't need a car? Thanks |
For east coast, check out Nova Scotia (Peggy’s cove!!) and pei. And just add in Newfoundland because it’s awesome.
I’m a western Canadian, I love Banff, jasper, tofino and Victoria. Thanks for your support! Your money will go pretty far with our crappy dollar, enjoy! |
They are a 5hr drive apart. Which is not much for Canada lol. Montreal is in the middle. You can def hit Ottawa/montreal/Quebec City in 7 days, though it wouldn’t leave a ton of time for exploring. But totally doable. |
Quebec City as others have said. The area around it is also beautiful - lots of good outdoor activities.
Mt. Tremblant is great for skiing. We did a driving tour up in Nova Scotia - up to Cape Breton - it was good but not great. However, really loved the Bay of Fundy and Halifax. You can make a nice trip with a stop in Acadia too if our National Parks keep operating. Also, if you are a camping family - their provincial parks (like our state parks) are very nicely setup with dish washing stations! National parks are great too. I like Montreal but don't love it. It's nice but nothing amazing. Husband loves it. I have always wanted to go to Prince Edward Island - Anne of Green Gables fan - they have a relatively new island trail which is on my list. https://theislandwalk.ca/ We have also gone to Banff & Jasper which are beautiful but not sure how Jasper is after the fires. Vancouver - I'm very meh on. Loved Victoria Island. |
Vancouver island. Capital city Victoria. |
Liard Hot Springs |
Niagara Falls. The Canadian side is nicer. |
