I've jumped on the protein powder bandwagon. But man, is it icky. Tastes like someone mixed beef boullion into chocolate pudding. I ate it mixed with plain yogurt. How do you eat it so it is more palatable? |
Just eat protein, why do you want it powdered? |
This. Also, why speak like a toddler? Yucky. Icky. |
I find it hard to get enough protein without easting a lot of meat, and I don't want to eat a lot of meat for environmental reasons. Why not say yucky and icky? MYOB. |
I agree with focusing on real protein sources (plenty of non-meat ones). But if you must - blend into smoothies or iced coffee/lattes.
Lots of inspo for recipes on tik tok. |
That’s not yucky, that’s iiiiicky! |
So eat beans, peas, and tofu. Packed with protein. There are also plant based protein powders which taste better IME. |
Also greek yogurts are high protein too. |
Eat Yummy babyfood |
Try different brands. I find the Quest brand tastes the best. I mix their vanilla protein powder with skim milk and ice and I can trick myself into thinking it's a vanilla milkshake. I also mix their salted caramel flavor with my iced coffee and it tastes kind of like a salted caramel latte if you don't think about it too hard. |
Try a vanilla flavor then mix with frozen fruit. While no brand is delicious, some taste better than others so you may want to try out other flavors or brands. |
Thanks. I will try other flavors & a shake.
I am currently eating the plant based powder, pb/chocolate flavor. And I know about Greek yogurt and beans! Just have a hard time getting the recommended amount through food sources. Probably could do it if I gave up all junk food and wine and carefully mapped out my diet, but I'm not willing to do that. |
Definitely try other brands as well as some of the already mixed ones (Fairlife, Premier). Some bars are really good too. |
All the flavored ones are disgusting. Many taste of artificial sweeteners. I like the orgain unflavored. |
Eat meat and beans. You don't need THAT much meat to hit your protein goals. Add in the rest with beans.
