After all bills are paid and 401k we’re left with 1k a month to play with and we have no debt. |
That’s pretty good, actually!
Living within your means is an excellent skill. |
No idea. Just booked a hotel rooms for spring break that are $13,000. |
But pretty much treading water and not saving much. |
You forgot the 401k savings. But to OP's question. Think about what you want or need to do this month. Identify how much those things cost. If it is more than $1K you decide which things you want or need the most. This is how people live on any income. |
Lucky you! |
People assume that overseas travel, designer products, upgraded car, HGTV decor etc are necessities. Live simply, within your means. If you can't buy something on cash, don't buy it. |
Never change DCUM. Never change. |
If you like fancy lifestyle, improve your earning and investing skills to make more money. |
Good job!👏🏼 |
I live on $130,000 but I did rack up $30,000 in debt. Trying desperately to figure out how to pay it back. So the fact that you have no debt is amazing and I give you huge kudos. |
You don’t max out your 401k. |
Generally the biggest issue is housing cost vs. income. We can live fine on that income but we bought our house a long time ago. |
Um, this isn't actually an issue for us at all. Our mortgage is only $2700 and we don't have to pay for childcare because I work from home and they can fend for themselves after they get home. |
And you're complaining? Why? |
