In any event, it was a great decision that was probably made by Kate. The decision to eliminate the noxious press was also, IMO, an excellent one. I also appreciate the effort that William and Harry made to issue a joint statement that they could both support.

I don't it matters whose idea it was but agree that it was a smart decision by all involved. First really smart PR move by the BRF since this whole thing with Meghan and Harry started. They all look better for it. One hopes this public success will generate some good will amongst the family members, as well.

Now the Sussexes can’t complain that just one spouse and set of grandkids was excluded.

I'm sure they're content now - all they asked was to be treated equally while they were putting in all the work as Senior Royals and as an irony - it just took leaving and becoming wealthier than anyone else in that family to do it.

Surprise.

Why bother? As soon as the Queen dies all of these places are clearly bouncing. If they even make it that long.

What would them going to Canada accomplish?

What have they accomplished going to Scotland 3 times for the Cambridges, once for the Queen, once for Prince Edward and his wife, and another time for the Prince Of Wales - all in the same six month period?

Zooming isn't working clearly.

What work did they do that no one else is doing?

Why do they need to visit Canada at all? Canada has enough going on with the Residential Schools.

There is this thing called primogeniture in England. Harry and Megs will never be treated "equally" to William and Kate. Primogeniture doesn't work that way. The oldest male (William) gets it all. Harry, of all people, should know that is how it work.

Funny you cut off some quotes that explained how and why the institution can bend a little when they want to (and when Harry has the power to force the issue). The ironic thing in this perspective is that it didn't have to be that way. The Sussexs asked for half-in half-out which would have required them to respect the rank. They were denied. Now Harry swans in for the 'fun' appearances and you won't see him in the U.K. for another six months.

Meanwhile W+K need to step up and step out over and over and over again. They've worked more in 2021 than they ever have in their lives.

Meh. The Queen said no to the Sussexes demands to be cafeteria royals. Now they’re making their own money and can quit whining. They won’t be missed in the UK.

Can we talk about about how shocked/surprised William looked at the statue unveiling?
Anonymous
What would he be shocked about? That was not the first time he saw the statue.
