Yeah, Spaniards are white unless they have ancestry from somewhere other than Spain. |
| I think no one runs a story because Hillary chooses her words very carefully. She doesn't say she is Spanish, she just doesn't correct it when magazines or other media refer to her as Spanish. She says "my family in Spain" or "my mother who lives in Spain", etc. she never flat out says "I'm Spanish". Pay close attention to her words and find something she says that literally isn't true. The comments she makes are crafted to be true yet make it appear she grew up in Spain and Spanish us her first language. |
I know what you're saying but the accent is lie, right there before our eyes. Forgetting the English word for cucumber is a lie. Appropriating an entire identity that you use to teach your kid about racism is a lie. Rachel Dolezal and others also chose words very carefully. A lie by omission-- and not correcting it (e.g. "Spanish" is her mother tongue) and not correcting it again and again when you continue to make money off of it-- is, in fact, a lie and very hurtful to someone who might be making that money in your stead. She will have to give back every penny. Someone said that in her latest podcast- this week- she said she knew what Zara was before she was "in this country." Umm... blatant lie. I am also betting she made blatant mistakes early on. This whole thing is bonkers and ridiculously fascinating and she is goddamn despicable. |
| Guessing that Alec may be willing to pay to suppress or remove anything negative to her narrative. Right after their marriage, there were posts on other sites from people who had gone to school with her in Boston, saying the Spanish background was bs. Cannot find those now. Recommend to anyone who has posted links here to news stories, videos, etc to screenshot everything, because the original could be removed at any time. Daily Mail sometimes moderates comments on stories about her. When I have posted information about her background on DM stories, sometimes it stays up and other times it never makes it to the comments page or is quickly removed. I believe Alec knows everything. Her parents have been photographed leaving the Baldwin apartment in NY soon after the marriage. And Alec and Hilaria visited Spain together after Carmen was born. Alec desperately wants her to happen and had an interview right after the wedding where he said that he wants her to support him someday. |
Nah. The guy was worth 50million before they were married. He doesn't need it. Was probably just something that sounded cute to say. Also, the people literally have the power now. No one, no matter how big, will want to be associated with covering up cultural appropriation. Maybe before this year, but not now. Imagine some PR person or manager getting associated with it- their career with be over. But yeah, screenshot that shit. |
| They won't expose her because hubby's an A-List anti-Trump liberal, who literally plays Donald Trump on SNL. Come on, when the media is picking off random nobody losers at diploma mills for doing this, it's obvious this fraudulent wack job is being protected by the Hollywood mafia. |
If this is true, well... It won't make me say I'm ashamed to be liberal, but it certainly makes me see some of the bullshit the other side(s) complains about. She - and these sustained actions- are just gross. |
| They pay the daily mail a lot of money, I know that much. There are these clearly crafted articles about them in there almost once or twice a week. |
I think it's simpler than that. She is a white woman of European descent claiming to be a white woman of another European descent. Despite Americans thinking anyone who speaks Spanish is "Mexican" or racially not white, Spaniards are white Europeans. I think she is a total fraud and really messed up, but I think part of the reason she is not going to have her feet held to the flames is that so few journalists feel comfortable describing this deception. It's not racial, or is it? Just language? Culture only? Like the PP describing random losers at diploma mills said, those people lied about their race. But Spaniards are white and Hilaria is white so....what's this? I've spent 15 years in Latin America and Spain so idk, I think I could write up a cogent analysis of this, but my experiences with fellow Americans tells me that this is hairy to a lot of people, enough to just kinda let it slide for fear of a foot in mouth moment. |
| Fox news doesn’t like him.sad that they will be the ones to break this. The second she talked about skin tones with her daughter it became racial. |
The literal lies |
| I would bet anything her kids' birth certs, school applications, etc. have the 'Hispanic' boxes checked. |
+1 I think you nailed it. But I would add that I think she knows that lots of Americans think anyone who speaks Spanish is Hispanic. And she uses that as a way seem exotic. |
Agree. But would like to add that beyond racial appropriation (which of course is awful on a deep level), so is this. No matter their race, people from native Spanish speaking countries generally root for one another (barring some sporting matches!) because of a common thread. I just checked out her instagram and a substantive percentage of the comments are in Spanish from posters in Spanish-speaking countries when, in reality, Hillary is about as "Spanish" as Gwyneth Paltrow, who also grew up a great deal in Spain and is fluent. Cultural appropriation isn't "not a big deal" at this level. Also, I just want to add that H seems to have tagged her "Breitling" watch in her Thanksgiving photo... in a time when a great many people all over the world aren't doing well. |
When was this video taken? How old is she in this video? Could this be taken before she had kids? Because she is impossibly youthful and fit in this video. |
