| Has anyone received ODSL schedules for their teams? |
ODSL and NCSL famously hold their schedules until up to one to two weeks before the season starts. |
Thanks. Good to know. |
EDP schedules were out a couple of weeks ago. I have found them to announce way sooner than NCSL, CCL, etc. We can actually schedule around games for once. |
What does EDP have to do with ODSL schedules not being available? They are two different leagues with different schedules. |
| He’s just pointing it out, calm down. Seeing as Barça also has teams in EDP, it’s pertinent. |
2nd tier 9 and 10 year olds? What is wrong with you? I’m not sure which is worse - that you are trolling, or that you believe that tiers of play at 9 years old means anything |
Harsh reality snowflake. I'm not he poster, but every club has a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, .......teams. You can call them colors, names, but in the end they have a pecking order. Yes, it matters. Keep thinking it doesn't. |
| I have no problem when someone says that a particular Barca team lost by a big score in a tournament, but there is no need to call kids "second tier players." Yes, there are tiers in teams within clubs, but laying on a B team does not necessarily mean that a player is a second tier quality, especially at U10 when there is a lot of time to develop. Further, depending on a club, some B teams are very strong. Loudoun 07 girls B team, for example, is ranked No. 5 in Virginia. Arlington's 08 girls B team is ranked no. 8 in Virginia. Based on tournament results, this particular Barca team, which is their A team, does not appear to be strong, but this is U10, so they have plenty of time to improve. |
umm yes it does... Your kids may improve and make it to A team , but if he's on the the B team now he is 2nd tier ie not as good, less talented, not elite. On bright side your kid can work hard and move up , but as of now he is 2nd tier, |
| There aren’t elite players at 10 years old. Different levels of potential, sure. |
current different levels which separates A team or better players as compared to B team or not as good players. and please don't compare to other clubs. You chose the club your child is at and therefore the player pool within that club is where your child is ranked. |
Youth talent assessment is subjective. Griezmann was not considered elite and was rejected by every French academy he tried out for as a kid. Now his is a key player on French national team and the World Cup winner. |
He's one of many now great FIFA players that followed that same path----totally ignored and then a break out star as an older teen/young adult. Child prodigies and the ones we love in the youth ranks rarely pan out. It's getting the kids that continually get overlooked in their youth that we need to keep motivating to stick with it. That is where the hope lies. |
