| Why do some people start their day with this - for what health benefits, and what added benefit does the water being hot provide? (Obviously a glass of water is good at any time.) Also, my dentist always discourages me from drinking lemon/lime due to erosion of toth enamel. |

What a question. It's a simple alternative to tea.
A lot of people clearly like hot beverages - tea, coffee - when they get in the morning. Personally something hot feels great for my throat when I first wake up. |
| daily splashing on acid (lemon) on your teeth is not good. |
It is corrosive, I do not recommend. I was doing this for some time in the past and it started causing me stomach pain. I think just drinking lots of water when waking up (especially with electrolytes) or even without is much better and will have the benefit in and of itself. Water with a dash of good salt and a bit of sugar would replenish and re-hydrate. |
| It makes you more likely to have a bowel movement because it's warm. Warm water would work as well but they think the lemon is enough to give them vitamins. Sure a wedge is just chock full.,, |
| It helps clear gut mucus. |
It's so diluted. |
| It’s aryuveda and healthy for gut/bowels |
| Just drink warm water. |
| It alkalizes your body |

I have researched this over and over. There is no benefit besides
-what water does for you (good) -what a warm drink does (makes you feel more full) -vitamin c, but less than you get over your day anyway Drawback - acid in stomach and on surface of teeth. It hurts my stomach. So. |
| It's very healthy and zero calories. |
Wait at least 30 mins before brushing teeth to avoid rubbing in the acids. |
