Best Private Social Clubs for tweens

Anonymous
High powered, social climbing, A-type single mom of teen daughters new to DC and looking for the “right” social circles. What are the best private clubs that cater to families? Women? Moms? Already looked into the Metropolitan and Cosmos, but those seem more geared toward men.

Looking for something a little more Jack and Jill, but not sure Jack and Jill is for us either as my girls aren’t into the debutante ball/cotillion thing.

We live in DC proper so would prefer to not have to venture all the way out to country club land, but if absolutely necessary we will.

Maybe the University Club? I feel like because of the gym/sports there are more young people.

I don’t know what “right” means though. Like I don’t think the university club is the halls of power or anything.

Looking for a place with other bold face names and leaders in their field.. the people you want to know, dare I say “need to know” to continue climbing to the top of the ladder.

I’ve heard of the uni club. It doesn’t seem very exclusive. It reads like a glorified gym lol everyone harps on the athletics there. Is that the major selling point? I mean we fence and play tennis, so that’s great.. but not a must have for the club we join

"Need to know" people don't belong to social clubs anymore. They just curate social gatherings for their friends.

If you have to ask in a public forum ... forget about it.

Oh come on. Definitely not a trumper. Just hoping that anonymous responses give an inside scoop you can’t find from asking members and friends.

No one describes themselves as “high powered” and “social climbing” unless they’re the kind of person no one wants to hang out with.

Why is “need to know” in quote marks here?

Wouldn’t you already have been invited if you were the right sort of people?

Maybe I should have clarified by saying I want to hear from people who actually have been part of some of these clubs.. for the inside scoop on which may have what im looking for.. not those who judge others because they either can’t afford it or wouldn’t be accepted because of their mediocrity

We’re new to the city. We were in clubs in our previous state with reciprocity at some clubs here but it’s always best to hear from people who have experience and will be honest about it
