It's surprisingly funny. I thought I would hate it, and they should have made Daniel/Hugh Grant's lechery less try-hard wannabe charming and more straight up sexual harassment but overall it was pretty good. |
Hugh Grant looks so old in this movie! His voice sounds different too.
Now, mind you I'm in a mood so may not apply to all? I didn't necessarily find it funny but I was absolutely bawling towards the end. Anyone else? Or was it just my mood that caused me to be much more sentimental? |
Is this in theaters? |
I think it's in theaters internationally and streaming in the US. I saw it on Peacock |
Just turned it on, and I’m struggling to suspend disbelief…with a 55 year old Renee playing a mum of young kids.
Yes, Hugh Grant looks old…but he’s so adept at playing this role that it doesn’t matter. His sex appeal is intertwined with his arrogant confidence. |
Emma Thompson is 65…and fully gray. |
It’s ridiculous. Hard to watch. |
I loved it and cried a lot, thought it was fantastic, but only if you are attached to the story which I am! Not as funny as the other ones but so touching, which makes sense as the character matured and went through what she did. |
And? |
Oh, please, just because she hasn’t been tweaked to death like Nicole Kidman! And of course you give a man a pass. |
Just watched it and really enjoyed it - much more than I thought I would. I cried a lot, it’s really touching and some very funny moments. |
FTR I don’t think Kidman has any business playing the mother of young kids either. |
When the little boy sang I was definitely boo hooing. |
I agree. It’s not about appearance- it’s about both acting for 35 years - and as adults from beginning of being in Hollywood. |
Can someone give the plot for this one? I adored the first movie and book, liked the next, not sure if I’ll see this as I am not sure I can suspend disbelief at the ages of any of the actors. |
