I am years behind watching good TV. I recently watched the Diplomat Seasons 1 and 2 and liked it a lot (esp. Keri Russell).
Will I like the Americans? There are 75 episodes so a big commitment. Afraid to google because I don't want spoilers. Thanks |
The Americans is so much better than the Diplomat |
I think you’ll like the first four seasons of The Diplomat, the first three or so seasons of Homeland, and the first two seasons of 24. You’ll also like the US House of Cards but that might not be streaming anywhere due to Kevin Spacey’s involvement. |
^sorry, the first four seasons of The Americans |
If I like the Americans would I’d like the diplomat |
I loved the Americans and found the diplomat hard to follow and needlessly complicated and with no real plot payoff so I stopped watching. |
Plus a billion. The Diplomat is dull and it drags. The Americans is excellent |
The Americans is one of the best shows of all time. You’ll love it |
Although the Americans is definitely more violent than the Diplomat. |
I love them both. The diplomat is much lighter though. |
Thanks everyone. Buckling up for 75 episodes!
I am hoping that there are several plots over the numerous seasons and not just one story line that builds up to end? seems like too many episodes for that! |

Americans is fantastic.
It’s like Claire Danes in Homeland. Very well done. |
How violent is the Americans? |
I’m surprised to hear people panning the diplomat! I loved it so much and thought it was smart/funny/exciting. I also loved the Americans. |
