Tech sales is what I've seen, too. It's an up and down business with many layoffs and quotas and pressure, but it's high-paying and very flexible. You need to be a people person, but not a genius.

Most lobbyists are idiots. and I know b/c I was one (lobbyist, not idiot) and work around many.

Really, this is true of selling most products--whether it's tech, houses (real estate), HVAC systems, alcohol to stores, industrial equipment, etc. I know people making really good money in each of these lines of work.

Not mine but know of some who are making bank doing hair, makeup, interior design, religious or motivational speakers, running tutoring centers, wedding organizers etc.
