Ranking high school privates on 2025 college season

I know there’s many acceptance (and many more rejections) left to go, but so far:

1. Maret
2. GDS
3. St. Albans
4. NCS
5. Sidwell

I have 2 kids at Sidwell and on an unbiased basis the quality of the kids just blows me away - kind, intelligent, good looking, empathetic, athletic, humble, charismatic - they all seem to be the complete package primed for life success. Honestly can’t see any other school competing or even coming close

It seems like NCS is having a tough time. There have been mostly early deferrals and, as far as I know, no admits to Texas or USC this week, even though girls applied. Our experience with college counseling has been excellent and the girls work incredibly hard.

I'm not sure how STA is faring in comparison since my daughter only knows a couple of the boys.

It helps that many Sidwell (and other private school) parents have the means to provide an environment that produces kids who have the “complete package”. Money for travel sports, Money for braces, Money for all kinds of tutors and consultants. I’m not coming from a position of sour grapes (I’m a private school parent). That’s just the truth.

As the godmother of two wonderful adolescent young adults at Maret and GDS, I can say with certainty that both of these institutions far surpass Sidwell in terms of academic rigor, extracurricular opportunities, and the quality of their pupils. I know this because both of my DC applied to Sidwell but were unfairly rejected - we went on a 30 minute tour of the campus and got to know the school very well. While many mothers, fathers, and guardians commenting on this forum argue otherwise, they appear to be following the herd running aimlessly towards a treacherous cliff. Bravo to you and your budding children - I wish them great success.

I'm not the poster you're talking about (and not a Sidwell parent) but you need to really chill out and not take everything so seriously. It's not pervy to call a class of kids good looking. Clearly the poster is just an over-the-top Sidwell backer or a troll making fun of this whole post. Either way she was just throwing out every superlative she could about this grade of kids.

You know that Maret and GDS are superior schools because of your 30 minute tour of Sidwell as a godparent to two kids that were rejected from Sidwell?
