How is this happening? They say the planet is hotter, not colder. It might’ve gotten this cold here historically, but a warming climate should make this impossible in the present day. |
We have had colder weather but schools didn’t close in VA. |
I think they did close in 2014 and 2019 due to polar vortex. |

MCPS didn’t close for previous polar vortex. |
Hell is freezing over and the orange man is back. |
Eye roll |
Trump has already stopped and is now reversing global warming. The man can accomplish anything. Epic. |
Look at the temperatures in Alaska right now, it's way hotter than normal, the polar vortex is shifting is caused by climate change. |
I am dreading this week. I am so ready for winter to be over or at the very least, for the temperatures to be in the normal range.
|
Yes, you're right, that's exactly what climate change means, that it will always be hotter every single day than it ever has been before, not (for instance) that the climate is going to be more unstable broadly and warmer in the aggregate even though any given day in (say) January could still be cold because of things like, you know, seasons. |
OMG, is this what we have to look forward to for the next 4 years? MAGAs polluting the forum with their low IQ ignorance? Climate change means more extreme weather events, all over the world, PP. ON AVERAGE - it's getting warmer. We keep breaking records of average annualized max temps all over the world, every year. But seasonally, we can get cold days. Even with the polar vortex coming next week, we are not anywhere near breaking the record lows for January in DC! On Jan 17th, 1982, it was -5F in DC. Not counting windchill. We haven't gone that low since. But I know I'm talking to a brain-dead zombie. |
Find a new rhetoric "orange man" is tired and cringeworthy. |
NP. And yet so accurate . . . |
